Ugh, the mama was trying to soothe the baby for the shoot and I snapped this.... she wouldn't let me shoot anymore of her and the baby.  It's all I have of the mama.

The crop is all wrong.... please help

I can't help with the cropping cause I'm at work. But I love the color in the photo.  I'v need to find someone to help me calibrate my monitor.  I have a spyderII but my colors never look good.  I"ve tried to calibrate with MPIX's free thing and I just can't do it.

Oh...sorry I'll save my ranting for another thread.  Sorry didn't mean to hijack.

Love the photo but if you could crop our her hand, that might look better.

Oh, sorry Ruth, I should've scrolled down.  My color looks blue to me, but Michelle's take on it looks great!

Here is my play, I just did a square crop and croped it on an angle and cloned in the white towel. I bumped the curves and contrast  a bit and also used robin purcell's b&w action.

Thanks!  I used photoblast warm action on it to warm it up a bit and defogged/sharpened for print.

I love good challenge!!

First I rotated 90* then tilted it to a slight diagonal and then cropped to 8 x 10 scale.

Putting it at an angle made a section of the bottom right of the photo have a gap where the photo angle cut the corner of the frame. I photoshopped in a section of the towell to fill in the gap and blended it in. I then photoshopped in the baby's arm.

I then ran the entire image thru a noise filter to smooth and take out any noise.

Then I used Google's picasa and changed the skin tone to warm, and added a soft filter. As the mothers hand is slightly out of focus this filter just makes it blend with the rest of the soft look on the outer edges.

I re-opened the image in ps cs2 again and tweaked the colour to a slightly more rosy tone.... and VIOLA.. in 50,000 easy steps lol!

Well, here's my play...I did a 5x5 square crop, sharpened, and used blur to soften all around baby's head so that background became soft.
